Welcome to Mossy Head Water Works
Mossy Head Water Works is a member owned corporation, with the purpose to own, construct, maintain and operate a water and/or wastewater system for the use and benefit of its members.

The founders of the corporation are as follows:
Ode’L Poole, President
Joseph N Stewart, Vice President
Ira P Potter, Secretary

Shortly after the Corporation was founded construction began with the drilling of the first well, which is still in use today. There were about 110 original members.

The Corporation received an exemption from Federal Income Taxes in accordance with IRS 501(c)(12), and is exempt from Ad Valorem Taxes and Florida sales tax as a non-profit water system.

The Corporation operates under rules set by the State, which is entitled “Corporations Not for Profit.” The customers who have the benefit of receiving services, are members of the Corporation. A member must be a user.

The Corporation is controlled by a Board of Directors, elected by the members. These Directors receive no compensation, and meet monthly.

The Board of Directors employ a General Manager to carry out policies established by the Board and to oversee day to day operations..

A financial statement is prepared each month, and submitted to the Board. A comprehensive audit is prepared annually, at the end of the Corporations fiscal year.
